The Maintenance Technician role focuses on troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining passenger loading bridges and related gate equipment. Work is performed in accordance with diagrams, manuals, and manufacturer specifications, using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments. The technician also conducts cleaning, lubrication, and preventive maintenance, and must be ready for emergency support on a 24‑hour basis.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and at least two years of equipment‑maintenance experience. They need strong mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic skills, the ability to read technical manuals, and basic computer proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel. Flexibility to work day or night shifts, weekends, holidays, and to operate at heights, in confined spaces, and under various weather conditions is essential.
The position requires regular standing, walking, climbing, and lifting up to 50 pounds, as well as the ability to work in noisy, outdoor airport environments with exposure to moving parts, chemicals, and vibration. Employees must follow lock‑out/tag‑out procedures, wear required personal protective equipment, and maintain safe work practices at all times.
