They will mark utilities with flags or paint, record locations and photos in a cell‑phone app, and produce reports, forms, and memos documenting work and any issues.
The job requires knowledge of best locating practices, 811 law, and the ability to read utility maps and drawings. Responsibilities include maintaining clean, tobacco‑free equipment and vehicles, completing paperwork, communicating with coworkers and the public, and traveling up to 75% of the time in all weather conditions.
