The purpose of this role is to develop a high level of competence with Nucor Rebar Fabrication’s detailing system (RebarCAD) and innovative detailing practices, gain a total understanding of the Nucor Harris business system as it relates to detailing and managing costs and contractual requirements, detail large, complex projects, and begin managing contractual issues relating to assigned projects.
- Adhere to Nucor Rebar Fabrication’s safety programs and standards.
- Independently detail and coordinate complex projects.
- Develop advanced detailing skills with the Nucor Harris Detailing System, including building library routines and detailing in paper/model space in RebarCAD.
- Verify drawings, dates, specifications, addenda and other contractual information.
- Collaborate with job site personnel to determine project requirements for detailing and material delivery.
- Identify and develop information to inform customers of contract changes.
- Address change orders with customers, produce change‑order documents and enter them in the business system; refer complex issues to supervisor.
- Detail accessories, mesh, couplers and dowel bars and prepare material lists as required.
- Communicate with architects/engineers, steel placer and customers on project questions.
- Enter all orders in Nucor Rebar Fabrication’s business system and prepare reports to assist project management.
- Enter all drawings for submission into the drawing tracking system.
- Maintain organized and detail‑oriented work habits.

- Demonstrate conduct consistent with Nucor Rebar Fabrication’s vision and values.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
- Hold a vocational certificate in CAD design/drafting from an accredited school or equivalent training and experience.
- Possess at least six years of experience detailing rebar using a CAD‑based detailing system.
- Earn a two‑year technical degree from an accredited school or college.
- Have working knowledge of industry reference materials such as CRSI and ACI.
- Work effectively as a team member on large projects with strong problem‑solving aptitude.
- Manage time effectively and prioritize responsibilities.
- Demonstrate effective verbal and communication skills.
