The Designer supports homebuyers throughout the interior design and customization process, providing guidance on materials, finishes, and structural and non-structural options. This role ensures selections are completed accurately and on schedule, coordinates key appointments and walkthroughs, and works closely with Sales, Construction, Trade Partners, and Customer Care to ensure all chosen options are installed as approved. The Designer delivers exceptional customer service while maintaining accuracy, efficiency, and alignment with company standards.
- Ensure all option selections are completed by required cut-off deadlines.
- Meet regularly with vendors to stay current on materials, products, and installation methods.
- Deliver exceptional customer service, communication, support, and follow-up throughout the escrow process to ensure a positive homebuying experience.
- Prepare standard, upgrade, and custom option orders, along with applicable escrow instructions, and enter all selections into the options software system accurately.
- Set clear expectations regarding selection deadlines, cut-off dates, and custom option requests to maximize customer satisfaction while maintaining the construction schedule.
- Coordinate homebuyer walkthroughs at key stages of construction.
- Assist in evaluating the quality of workmanship provided by trade partners.
- Provide interior design consultations and recommendations tailored to homebuyers.
- Collect and process deposits in accordance with company policies.
- Research market trends, consumer preferences, and design innovations, and recommend new products and options for future offerings.
- Submit and route all homebuyer selection orders through the appropriate internal channels in a timely and accurate manner.
- Prepare and provide flooring, electrical, and countertop diagrams as part of the selection process.
- Meet with homebuyers to guide them through the design process, including materials, options, and upgrade selections.
- Obtain homebuyer approval of all selected materials prior to installation.
- Collaborate closely with Sales, Construction, Trade Partners, and Customer Care teams to ensure all selected options are installed correctly and meet quality standards.

A valid driver’s license and active vehicle insurance is required at all times.
This is primarily a sedentary position. Requires the ability to hear, type and talk. Finger dexterity is required to operate a computer keyboard. The primary work location is a corporate office with low to moderate noise levels. Appropriate business apparel and professional appearance are expected.
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain the established work schedule, including working Saturdays as required.
- Minimum of five years of design experience with a homebuilder or in a design studio is strongly preferred.
- Proficient computer skills, including keyboarding and experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and similar programs.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- High School Diploma or General Education (GED).
- ASID certification or affiliation preferred.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Highly detail-oriented and well organized.
- Strong construction knowledge with the ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Ability to perform effectively under pressure.

The expected base salary for this position is between $65,000 to $80,000 per year, depending on experience and skillset. Base salary is paid bi-weekly.
