Foreman / Crew Supervisor (Aggregates & Mining Operations)

Description

The role is based in Northwest Tucson / Bonita–Avra Valley, AZ and involves supervising a labor crew at an active production site. The supervisor ensures safe and efficient operation of equipment such as loaders, haul trucks, and crushers, and oversees blasting activities when required. Maintaining a clean, organized work area and meeting production quotas are central to the position.

Key duties include assigning daily tasks, training new employees on safety and equipment use, conducting performance evaluations, and fostering teamwork and open communication. The supervisor monitors material quality, enforces safety rules, identifies hazards, and promptly reports incidents and equipment issues. Daily reporting of production progress, safety concerns, and maintenance needs, as well as completing required documentation, are also required.

• Supervise daily operations of a labor crew at the production site
• Ensure safe and efficient operation of loaders, haul trucks, and crushers
• Oversee blasting activities following established procedures and safety standards
• Achieve production quotas for blasted and processed material
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area
• Assign daily tasks and clarify work procedures for crew members
• Train new employees on operational tasks, safety protocols, and equipment use
• Conduct performance evaluations, provide coaching, and give feedback
• Promote teamwork, accountability, and open communication among staff
• Perform routine quality inspections to confirm material size and specifications
• Identify and report quality issues or deviations to site leadership
• Enforce all site safety rules and procedures
• Identify hazards and implement corrective actions promptly
• Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Respond to safety incidents and escalate complex situations as needed
• Communicate daily production progress, safety concerns, and operational needs
• Report equipment malfunctions or maintenance requirements promptly
• Complete daily and weekly production and safety documentation
• Perform hands‑on labor alongside crew members when necessary
• Assist in maintaining accurate production and equipment records
• Develop supervisory, leadership, and operational skills continuously
• Lead crews in a production environment with strong personnel management
• Meet production targets while upholding safety and quality standards
• Identify issues and appropriately escalate complex situations
• Work outdoors in varying weather and site conditions and perform physical tasks
• Complete production and safety reports accurately

Requirements

Applicants must have experience in mining, aggregates, construction, or heavy industrial operations, with a background in leading crews and operating heavy equipment. Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills are essential, along with the ability to meet production targets while upholding safety and quality standards. Physical ability to work outdoors in varied conditions and familiarity with quality control and reporting processes are also required.
