What you would be doing

  • Serving as a member of the Service Department Team to conduct Controls servicing of jobs, as well as construction controls start up and commissioning promptly and efficiently.
  • Lift and carry objects weighing up to 100 pounds occasionally and up to 60 pounds frequently.
  • Troubleshoots and effectively diagnoses and repairs inoperative systems and devices.
  • Performing related duties as directed by the Manager, Building Automation & Controls.
  • Conducting point-of-work sales for added control services, unit components, unit replacements, control system upgrades, HVAC sales leads, and commercial service contracts.
  • Perform all duties noted above under the conditions, circumstances, and extreme weather conditions found in Florida.
  • Programming application specific controllers and ancillary devices. Setting up and programming system supervisory controllers and front-end equipment, including, but not limited to, line code and graphics.
  • Climb and balance on ladders and stand for long periods of time.
  • Keeping vehicle in clean condition at all times and using vehicle only for company use.
  • Commissioning systems and performing point to point checks.
  • Performing DDC Control service and construction activities without direct oversight or on-site assistance.

  • Possess in depth knowledge of manufacturers control system software such as Niagara AX and Niagara
  • High school graduate or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Drive safe at all times and not utilizing the cellular phone while driving.
  • Ability to work under pressures of time, a non-standard schedule, weather, customer needs and backlog constraints.
  • Possess basic computer skills including MS Word and Excel.
  • Valid Florida Driver's License is required
  • Incumbent must be insurable at all times by CES insurance carrier.
  • Knowledge with HVAC systems preferred but not required
  • Legal Shield & ID Theft
  • Possess good vision (either naturally or with correction).
  • Must not have fear of heights (acrophobia).
  • Stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl.
  • Three or more years of successful experience, either as a commercial controls service or installation technician.
  • Tridium Niagara AX or N4 Certified required.
  • Safety glasses required while performing certain tasks
