  • Ensure all new assets are fully registered and scheduled in the Agility asset management system.
  • Support the collation of Health & Safety File data, ensuring compliance with CDM regulations.
  • Work closely with the Infrastructure Manager, Asset Handover Coordinator, and Technical Officer to guarantee a seamless transition into “business as usual” operations.
  • Lead on infrastructure checks and static testing to verify compliance with design specifications and operational suitability.
  • Take ownership of both Permanent Way and Overhead Line disciplines during the expansion, ensuring readiness for operation.
  • Shadow the existing MML Team Leaders during a structured 3-month induction to gain network-specific knowledge.
  • Develop and update maintenance schedules, procedures, and instructions aligned with manufacturer and regulatory guidance.
  • Coordinate the familiarisation and training of operations and maintenance teams on new track and overhead line environments.
  • Oversee snagging inspections, joint walkthroughs, and the sign-off process to declare assets safe and service-ready.

  • Experience of commissioning and operational readiness (static testing, staff training, documentation).
  • Familiarity with CMMS systems such as Agility.
  • Knowledge of West Midlands Metro infrastructure and practices.
  • Experience of infrastructure handovers, extensions, or commissioning in light rail/rail projects.
  • Strong knowledge of maintenance principles, asset inspection, and safety regulations within light rail or rail infrastructure.
  • Demonstrable experience across both Permanent Way and Overhead Line infrastructure.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and confirm asset compliance.
  • NEBOSH Managing Safely or IOSH Managing Safely.
  • Understanding of Health & Safety File requirements under CDM regulations.
  • APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ), or Prince 2.
