The Wiring Harness Component Engineer will lead the concept, design, and development of wiring harness assemblies and components, ranging from low‑voltage communication connectors to high‑voltage power‑management systems. This role offers the chance to enhance simulation, analytical, and mechanical/electrical engineering skills while working with an experienced engineering team across diverse Caterpillar applications.
- Communicate requirements and development activities with suppliers
- Collaborate with craftsmen, technicians, and engineers on electrical/electronic systems
- Report project progress, issues, and successes to clients and management
- Drive practical solutions using latest industry technologies
- Technical excellence: develop solutions to significant technical challenges
- Project management: plan, organize, monitor, and control projects efficiently
- Product design & development: use tools to convert requirements into designs
- Supplier management: manage relationships and transactions with component suppliers

The position requires five days a week onsite work and does not provide visa sponsorship. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States, and the role is open to all qualified applicants regardless of age, veteran status, or disability.
- Own end‑to‑end connector and cable technology projects
- Effective communication: accurately transmit, receive, and interpret ideas
- In‑depth understanding of current and emerging high‑speed data technology
- Experience with testing equipment for high‑speed data communication performance and robustness
- Knowledge of cable and connector assembly practices
- Demonstrated project‑management skill
Benefits
Compensation includes a salary range of $95,640.00 to $143,520.00, with total rewards comprising performance‑based bonuses and a variety of benefits. Salary is only one component of the overall compensation package.
