Join IMEG as a Chemical Engineering New Grad in Saline, MI, and help create safe, efficient, and sustainable processes with a collaborative, award‑winning team. You will assist in the design and analysis of chemical and process systems for industrial facilities and advanced manufacturing plants, using AutoCAD and AutoCAD Plant 3D alongside experienced engineers. This entry‑level role offers hands‑on design, analysis, and implementation experience with mentorship and training from day one.
In this position you will interact with clients to gather requirements, document design decisions, and support project planning, scheduling, and execution. You will develop Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), assist with equipment specifications, perform fieldwork, and help prepare cost estimates and vendor quotes. Additional duties include contributing to bid packages, reviewing construction progress, ensuring quality control, staying current with industry trends, and prioritizing safety while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
The Chemical Engineering team assists in process design for chemical, manufacturing, and industrial systems, using AutoCAD and AutoCAD Plant 3D to develop efficient, safe processes. Senior engineers provide mentorship and hands‑on learning opportunities, and the team’s designs have earned ACEC National Recognition Awards for engineering excellence.
Required qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or an equivalent degree, with prior internship experience in engineering consulting or the chemical process industry preferred. An Engineering in Training (EIT) license is also preferred. Candidates must be skilled in AutoCAD and AutoCAD Plant 3D, have basic BIM knowledge, be proficient with the MS Office suite, and possess strong oral and written communication abilities. Attention to detail, problem‑solving skills, teamwork, eagerness to learn, and the ability to travel up to 5% with occasional overnight stays are essential.
