The Origination & Trading team translates asset capabilities and market opportunities into sustainable financial performance through data‑driven decisions and operational excellence, collaborating closely with traders, plant operators, and transmission providers.
- Work within a growing team of highly skilled schedulers.
- Set up Private Use Networks and coordinate testing with ERCOT.
- Manage day-to-day scheduling and dispatch of large data center loads, private use networks, and behind‑the‑meter/front‑of‑meter generation.
- Develop and implement power and load scheduling strategies to optimize asset performance and revenue.
- Monitor and analyze generation/load conditions, market, grid, and weather to inform scheduling decisions.
- Ensure compliance with ERCOT market rules and NERC regulations.
- Coordinate with traders, plant operators, and transmission providers.
- Develop and maintain scheduling protocols, models, and tools.
- Identify and evaluate opportunities to improve scheduling efficiency.
- Stay current on industry trends and best practices in power scheduling and renewable energy.

The Power Scheduler role supports Intersect’s Origination & Trading team, which drives revenue through long‑term contracts and market optimization. The position requires deep knowledge of the ERCOT electricity market and experience scheduling renewable assets like PV and BESS. The scheduler will optimize the energy and load portfolio, ensure regulatory compliance, and maximize profitability.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Economics, or related field.
- 8+ years power scheduling experience, focusing on renewable assets.
- 3+ years managing power scheduling or real-time power trading.
- Strong understanding of ERCOT market structures, rules, and regulations.
- Hands‑on experience with PV, wind, gas, and BESS scheduling and dispatch.
- Experience with Private Use Network operations.
- Proficiency in power scheduling software and tools.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work rotating shift schedule.
- Experience with energy storage optimization.
- Knowledge of forecasting and risk management techniques.
- Familiarity with data analytics and visualization tools.
