Knowledge of lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and experience maintaining detailed operational records, including Operating Logs, is essential.
The ability to work well with others, be self-directed, and apply creative solutions to unique problems is desirable.
Extensive experience in troubleshooting and repairing plant control systems is essential.
Thoroughly understand and follow all plant safety policies and procedures.
Must possess a valid, unrestricted U.S. driver’s license and ensure it remains in good standing at all times.
High-level competency in troubleshooting, calibrating, and repairing power plant instrumentation—including pressure and temperature transmitters, thermocouples, pressure and temperature switches, proximity probes, vibration sensors, I/P controllers, flow elements and transmitters, electrical relays, gas analyzers, and speed sensors—is required.
Experience with piping and instrument schematics and process controls is desirable. Strong leadership and motivational skills are required. Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential.
An Associate degree in Plant Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, Process Technology, or a related field is preferred. Alternatively, equivalent technical training in industrial maintenance or instrumentation and control is beneficial, though not required. Relevant industry or military experience may be considered in lieu of education on a year-for-year basis.
Prior experience in power plant operations within an active generating facility, including operating and maintaining plant systems such as HRSGs, turbines, and auxiliary equipment, and the ability to respond effectively to emergency operations and system dispatch orders, is required.
