Estimators work closely with project managers, engineers, and regional leadership to ensure accurate, competitive, and comprehensive bids for construction projects. Levels I–III reflect differences in experience, independence, and project complexity.
Key responsibilities include reviewing drawings, specifications, and project requirements to develop accurate cost estimates; preparing preliminary budgets, estimates, and proposals; setting up estimates in job management software and maintaining records; generating and tracking RFIs; soliciting subcontractor and supplier quotes and preparing bid packages; and developing comprehensive scope takeoffs.
Estimators also provide pricing for change orders, support operations teams with estimate hand‑off meetings, prepare subcontractor packages, liaise with project managers, engineers, accounting, subcontractors, and clients, and present pricing methodology to management and clients. They maintain supplier and vendor directories and stay current with construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
We are seeking Estimators (Levels I, II, and III) to join our team. Estimators evaluate project documents, prepare cost estimates, coordinate with internal teams and subcontractors, and support bids from the preliminary phase through project award. The role requires strong attention to detail, analytical ability, and clear communication of estimate methodology and scope.
Qualifications vary by level: Estimator I requires a high school diploma (college coursework preferred) and 0–2 years of experience, with strong math, organizational, and Excel skills. Estimator II requires 2–5 years of estimating or project coordination experience in prestressed concrete tanks or similar, ability to manage estimates with limited oversight, and proficiency with estimating software, Bluebeam, and Excel. Estimator III requires 5+ years of experience, advanced understanding of project planning and scope development, and intermediate to advanced Excel and estimating software proficiency.
All levels must be able to read and interpret blueprints and specifications, possess strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, excellent communication skills, a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and willingness to work extended hours and occasional travel. The position is primarily office‑based with regular computer use, occasional field visits, and may require extended hours around bid deadlines.
Whether you are early in your estimating career, looking to expand your leadership, or experienced in handling complex bids, this direct‑hire role offers growth with a team that values accuracy, integrity, and professional development.
