Description

In this hands‑on leadership position the mechanic will run garage operations, manage parts and fluid inventory, perform preventative and corrective maintenance, and supervise shop mechanics. Additional duties include coordinating warranty work, operating heavy equipment when needed, and maintaining accurate work orders and records.

• Perform routine and preventative maintenance on diesel trucks and trailers.
• Supervise and mentor shop mechanics; manage daily shop operations.
• Monitor and replenish parts and fluid inventory.
• Schedule and execute minor repairs on vehicles and field equipment.
• Coordinate warranty work and required inspections.
• Operate heavy equipment such as skid steers and telehandlers as needed.
• Complete work orders and maintenance records accurately.
• Train employees on equipment operation and shop procedures.
• Collaborate with management on operational needs and assignments.

Requirements

The ideal candidate holds a high school diploma or GED, has specialized mechanical training, and possesses extensive experience servicing diesel trucks and heavy equipment. Proficiency with diesel engines, fleet maintenance software, and Microsoft Outlook, along with the ability to juggle multiple priorities, is required; a personal tool set and a valid driver’s license (CDL preferred) are also needed.
