Sample Receiving Technician - Laboratory

Description

We are currently seeking a full-time Sample Receiving Technician for our Emeryville, CA service center. The role involves receiving and documenting environmental samples, entering data into the laboratory information system, labeling and storing containers, and assisting with sample preparation, archiving, disposal, and field pickups. You will also help coordinate daily sampling schedules, provide backup for intrastate transfers, and participate in focus teams to improve laboratory efficiency while adhering to quality assurance and health‑safety plans.

• Receive environmental samples according to SOPs.
• Enter sample and test information into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
• Label and store sample containers, coordinating short‑holding time or rush requests.
• Prepare sample bottles and manage sample archiving and disposal.
• Assist with sample pickup and field sampling as required.
• Coordinate daily field‑sampling/pickup schedule.
• Provide backup for intrastate sample transfers between Emeryville and Coalinga.
• Participate in focus teams to improve laboratory efficiency.
• Comply with Enthalpy’s Quality Assurance Program and Health and Safety Plan.

Requirements

Successful candidates must hold a high school diploma or equivalent and possess knowledge of general workplace practices and laboratory safety. You should be able to multitask, communicate clearly both orally and in writing, work independently, make sound decisions, and demonstrate strong organization and attention to detail.
