Lead the Future of Environmental Permitting in New Jersey. This Managing Consultant role at ERM offers the chance to shape energy and infrastructure projects while delivering sustainable solutions as a trusted advisor to clients.
You will contribute to ERM’s mission by supporting permitting projects and collaborating with colleagues across the organization.
- Drive strategic business development and expand Impact Assessment & Planning services in New Jersey.
- Advise on complex NJDEP Division of Land Resource Protection permitting projects for utilities and renewable energy.
- Build, hire, and mentor a high‑performing technical team.
- Oversee DLRP permitting to ensure compliance and quality across projects.
- Strengthen existing client relationships and establish new long‑term partnerships.
- Collaborate with ERM’s global network to share best practices and deliver integrated solutions.

- Required education: BS/MS in environmental studies, natural resources, planning, geography, civil/environmental engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 4 years consulting experience with NJDEP DLRP and multi‑media permitting; proven business growth ability and established utility/regulator contacts.
- Preferred certifications: PWS, PE, CEP, AICP; experience with large‑scale renewable energy projects.
