- Collaborate with pipeline design experts to develop and review designs, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Conduct field inspections and condition assessments to ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
- Perform pipeline failure and forensic analyses.
- Manage projects from planning through design and construction for new and rehabilitation pipe designs.
- Design pressure pipelines.

The ideal candidate is a civil or structural engineer passionate about new pipeline design, installation, failure forensics, condition assessment, and rehabilitation. This position offers the chance to join a successful local and national group, tackle diverse technical challenges, and advance within our growing pipeline design practice.
Travel throughout the United States is required, and the position is offered as a hybrid role based in Boston, MA. Compensation ranges from $140,000 to $180,000 annually, dependent on location and qualifications.
- Travel nationwide as required.
- Hold a BS in Civil, Geotechnical, or Structural Engineering with 8+ years relevant experience (or equivalent).
- Obtain or possess a Professional Engineer (PE) license within 6 months of hire.
- Demonstrated experience in municipal water, wastewater, or stormwater pipeline design, analysis, installation, and inspection.
- Proficiency with Mathcad or MATLAB.
- Familiarity with pipeline design codes, standards, and regulations.
- Experience using 2D and 3D CAD software.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and pass motor vehicle records review.
- Knowledge of open‑cut and trenchless construction methods (e.g., micro‑tunneling, jack‑and‑bore).
- 12+ years of pipeline design experience preferred.
- Master’s degree in a related field preferred.
- Experience with water, storm, and sanitary sewer rehabilitation and condition assessment.
- Finite element analysis expertise.
- Ability to work effectively in diverse teams.
