The Mechanical and Electrical (MEP) Engineer will manage, evaluate, and assess information related to mechanical and electrical systems to ensure the project is completed on time, safely, within budget, and to the quality specified in the contract documents.
The role includes leading the project team and subcontractors, preparing and managing contract items, updating schedules, processing RFIs, overseeing budgets and change orders, and mentoring Assistant MEP Engineers. Collaboration with the VDC Engineer, MEP Superintendent, and other stakeholders ensures coordination, conflict resolution, and compliance with design, operations, and quality standards throughout installation, startup, testing, commissioning, and closeout.
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and have at least four years of relevant engineering experience, or an equivalent combination of education and training, with strong technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, business acumen, communication skills, and the ability to lead high‑performing teams.
The role requires occasional physical tasks such as climbing stairs or ladders, lifting up to 50 lb, and possessing specific vision abilities. Work is performed on construction sites where employees are exposed to moving mechanical parts, heights, fumes, weather conditions, noise, and potential electrical hazards.
The position offers a salary range of $83,000‑$103,000 annually and a flexible benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k) plan with matching, health‑savings and flexible‑spending accounts, wellness programs, legal and identity‑theft protection, life and disability insurance, paid vacation, sick time, holidays, parental leave, tuition reimbursement, referral bonuses, and end‑of‑year appreciation pay.
