The Role

Overview

Conduct asphalt, aggregate and binder testing in NATA‑accredited lab, handling samples, data and safety.

Tasks

-Providing technical support to production departments. -The hands-on, day-to-day sampling and testing in accordance with specified requirements. -Conduct procedures safely and maintain good housekeeping of laboratory and surrounds. -The handling and management of chemicals in line with relevant standards -Maintain the laboratory in accordance with NATA requirements. -Sampling and testing of asphalt, aggregates, binders and asphalt field compaction testing. -Reporting, record keeping and calibrations including reporting non-conforming products.

What You Bring

The pre-employment process will include a medical check, including drug and alcohol screening. -Current and valid Driver's Licence. -Having a demonstrated knowledge of Australian standards for laboratories would be viewed favourably but is not essential as full training will be provided. You will be proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel. Experience of QESTLAB would be advantageous. -Professional communication, written and interpersonal skills. -Previous experience in heavy industries or an interest in this field of work -Willingness to work nightshifts and weekends as required. -Ideally you will have an understanding of the asphalt industry. -Attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure and achieve strict deadlines. -Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques (would be advantageous).
