The Programming – Epic Games Services team drives the plug‑in power behind Unreal Engine 5, bridging connections for licensees and internal game teams to online services. This enables games like Fortnite to combine platform and Epic online services for features such as login, parties, voice chat, matchmaking, purchasing, cloud storage, and analytics.
As a Senior Backend Programmer (Ecommerce) on the Fortnite Online team, you will design and improve highly available, high‑throughput, low‑latency services that power virtual currency, subscriptions, the in‑game store, promotions, and other monetization features. You will write large‑scale backend systems, own their full lifecycle—including live operations and deployment—and work closely with client‑side programmers, service owners, producers, and DevOps teams to deliver end‑to‑end solutions while fostering an open, supportive culture.
