Key responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing operational difficulties on heavy‑duty diesel trucks, vacuum trucks and power‑wash units, as well as maintaining diesel, CNG, gas and electrically operated equipment. The role requires completing work orders, reports and parts requests, planning and scheduling repairs in the M5 planner, and ensuring all safety regulations are followed. Additional duties involve using a variety of power and hand tools, maintaining a clean work area, training new employees, and staying current with technical manuals and training seminars.
The successful candidate will be reliable, punctual and self‑motivated, with excellent communication skills. They must be able to meet deadlines, work under pressure and maintain safety in a semi‑fast‑paced environment.
Candidates must hold a valid 310T licence and an Ontario “G” driver’s licence with a clean abstract, and provide their own tools. Experience with diagnostic software, computer literacy and the ability to learn new software systems are required. Strong communication, the ability to work independently, follow detailed instructions, maintain accurate records and perform the physical tasks of the job are essential.
