Collect field data using laptops, tablets, GPS, and other electronic devices for database input.
Perform various field technical services for the operation, inspection, and maintenance of electrical distribution systems, including system inventories and audits, joint use management and permitting, pad-mount inspections, ground-line pole inspections, metering and apparatus services, and lighting audits.
Keep supervisors and coworkers informed, sharing complete and accurate information with all levels of the organization and external clients and agencies.
Prepare and modify electrical and roadway drawings, specifications, calculations, charts, graphs, and construction drawing packages.
Operate equipment to measure utility poles and mid-span facilities, conduct pole inspections, and maintain pad-mount equipment.
Develop knowledge of telephone, cable, and other communication facilities.

Thorough knowledge of technical practices and procedures in areas such as Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation and Control, Protective Relaying, Transmission Design, Substation Design, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Distribution Engineering, Surveying, GIS and Mapping, CADD, Drafting, GIS.
Proficiency in AutoCAD for detailed design of overhead and/or underground electric distribution systems.
Analytical competence to interact with engineers and experienced distribution system designers.
Present ideas effectively in both formal and informal settings, communicate well in writing, and adhere to proper email and telephone communication ethics.
Willingness to travel overnight to surrounding utility territories is expected.
Proficient use of engineering software is preferred.
Associate's Degree in AutoCAD or Engineering Technology.
Clear and valid driver's license is required.
Experience with AutoCAD or similar programs is preferred.
Familiarity with the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) is preferred.
Proficient use of Microsoft Office applications is desired.
