Description

• Cleans and maintains concrete and forming tools.
• Installation of safety railings, floor openings and general safety items.
• Placement of concrete with bucket, chute, pump and placement procedures, agitation etc.
• Erects temporary partitions and doors.
• Installation of in-wall and roof blocking/general carpentry.
• Responsible for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) compliance and following OSHA standards.
• Sets forms for concrete including but not limited to foundations, SOG, bulkheads.
• Assists in the installation of doors, frames & hardware.
• Adheres to JE Dunn safety standards.

Requirements

• Working knowledge of all concrete tools and carpentry hand tools.
• Ability to build relationships and collaborate within a team, both internally and externally
• Ability to complete assigned duties with minimal guidance
• Ability to perform work accurately and completely, and in a timely manner
• Knowledge of setting forms for concrete (Foundations / SOG / Bulkheads)
• Basic acceptable finishing of concrete with floats and trowels (columns/walls/foundations).
• High School Diploma or GED (Preferred)
• Knowledge of all concrete tools and how they work
• Knowledge of all carpentry hand tools, use and own all required hand tools and pouches
• 0-2 years commercial construction experience (Preferred)
• Ability to provide excellent customer service
• Effective Communication skills, verbal and written
• Communicates absence or tardiness with supervisor as early as possible
• Occasional activity: Sitting, Viewing Computer Screen
• Must be willing to work non-traditional hours to meet project needs
• Basic understanding and use of principles of layout and construction math as necessary per project needs.
• Basic understanding of principles of layout and construction math
• Frequent activity: Standing, Walking, Climbing, Bending, Kneeling, Carrying, Swinging, Reaching above Shoulder, Pushing, Pulling, Balancing
• Knowledge of specific trades and scopes of work
• Proficiency with the basic elements of framing or forming.
• Autonomy and Decision-Making: Follows directions and refers all exceptions to supervisor.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Must have reliable transportation
• May require use of respirator
• Apprentice and/or Vocational/Technical/Trade training (Preferred)
• In lieu of the above requirements, equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
• 0-2 years experience in specific trade (Preferred)
• Must be comfortable working at projected heights, narrow workspaces, various depths (trenches)
