The engineer joins a diverse team of utility experts to develop and execute a best‑in‑class transmission and sub‑transmission (T&S) asset planning strategy across Avangrid. Responsibilities include leading the asset management initiative, guiding T&S projects through the investment planning process from conception to construction, providing technical oversight, researching and refining the planning strategy, and ensuring asset condition needs are identified, prioritized, and mitigated.
Additional duties involve centralized oversight of the T&S capital project portfolio, preparation of strategy discussions to meet regulator, customer and stakeholder expectations, and building collaborative relationships with regulators and ISOs. The role requires strong theoretical and practical engineering knowledge, experience in planning, operations, design, construction, and the ability to document and review engineering work, as well as familiarity with NERC, NPCC, ISO, and PUC regulations. Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree in electrical, civil, or structural engineering and have 2‑5 years of relevant experience in distribution planning, design, operations, asset management, or maintenance.
