Major Corrective Specialist (mf/d)

Description

The Major Correctives Specialist supports Nordex’s mission to deliver clean power plants, leading on‑site major component replacement projects such as gearboxes and generators. The role involves mentoring technicians, reviewing schematics, planning daily tasks and traveling across the U.S. and Canada.

• Ensure all projects comply with Nordex HSE legal requirements and lead safety activities such as incident reporting, risk assessments, LOTO processes and hazardous material handling.
• Schedule and supervise daily shifts for technicians and contractors, manage tooling inventory, and conduct rigging equipment inspections.
• Maintain material and consumable inventories, track project progress, close service orders on time, and support on‑site project planning and execution.
• Perform quality‑control audits, safety walks, and adhere to Nordex project management processes.
• Monitor project costs, validate contractor timesheets, and coordinate manpower and resources on‑site.

Requirements

• Hold a high school diploma (or equivalent); a 2‑year degree in wind turbine technology is preferred.
• Possess at least three years of major corrective project experience in the wind industry and certifications such as rigger/signal‑person and crane‑calling.
• Demonstrate proficiency with power tools, reading schematics, and generating technical reports; be skilled in MS Office and data reporting.
• Meet OSHA and ANSI weight limits (≤ 265 lb), pass a pre‑employment physical, and be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally for extended periods, hold a valid driver’s license, and maintain driver‑insurance eligibility.

Benefits

The position offers a non‑exempt hourly rate of $33‑$37 with up to a 5 % bonus, and compensation is tailored to each candidate’s experience, skills and qualifications.
