Participates in developing annual business plan for the Austin office and region.
Ensures that budgets have been developed to provide for adequate hours and tasks including HOK's Quality Management Program and Sustainable Design solutions through the life of the project.
Travel may be required.
Business development support through successfully delivering work, working with local consultant teams, attending events to further collaboration with HOK national business leaders, etc.
Leads project team(s) as Senior Project Manager.
Operational support, which requires assisting the Practice Leader and Principal-Designer in the overall operations of the Austin studio.
Project Management, which involves collaborating closely with the Project Architect, Project Designer, and overall design team to ensure project success, financial performance, and effective team leadership. This involves overseeing projects through all phases, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and aligned with the design intent.
Fosters a commitment to external and internal client service through stakeholder engagement, management of expectations, and addressing concerns in a timely manner.
Provides adequate support, fees, and project engagement during the construction administration phase.
Assists with negotiating fees and contracts.
Develops project scope, fee, schedule, and services during the marketing and contract development process.
Leads project team to determine function and spatial requirements in line with project scope, estimated cost, and project schedule.
Participates in selected marketing and business development opportunities.
Responsible for managing project using HOK's Project Management system; completes work plans, including identification of project team members, budget, consultants, schedule for completion, fees, and costs as well as project change notices or other actions taking place on the assigned project.
Defines staff requirements for projects as needed or directed. Makes recommendations to senior management for staff promotions/terminations for project team.
Keeps client apprised of project progress on regular basis.
Consistently provides complete and timely communication of project information to and from clients and project team for successful project delivery.
Assists in development of fee proposals for marketing proposals.
May participate in interviews and recruiting of future staff.
Leads client presentations and assists in the development of collateral for meetings.
Initiates and maintains contact with other key project individuals for clarification, coordination, and negotiation of critical issues.
Responsible for the preparation of consultant contracts.
Primary point of contact with client.
Identifies new business opportunities while developing current client relationships. Listens for and seeks out new projects which may exist or are being formulated.
Provides leadership including professional development coaching and mentoring staff.
Takes personal responsibility for fostering a green workplace through sustainable work practices.
Works with the design team to prepare information regarding design, specifications, materials, color, and equipment. Plans layouts of projects and confirms integration of engineering elements into a unified design for client review and approval.
Responsible for maintaining, fostering, and shepherding client relationships throughout project.
Fosters and maintains a collaborative working relationship with the Regional Leadership team, HOK RBU and MBU leaders, clients, and other project stakeholders.

Bachelor’s degree in architecture or equivalent in education or experience required.
Ability to manage multiple projects of a complex scope.
Minimum 15 years’ experience in architectural practice with at least 5 years' management experience in all phases of projects through post-occupancy.
Ability to effectively work in a team atmosphere.
Understanding of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Integrated Project Delivery (IDP).
Proficiency in Revit preferred but not required.
Proficiency in Deltek Vantagepoint preferred. (HOK uses this system for project management.)
Ability to be flexible in multi-tasking and assignment adjustments.
Ability to effectively meet deadlines.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required.
Able to demonstrate proven and effective communication and leadership skills.
Advanced knowledge of sustainability, integrated design and LEED guidelines preferred.
LEED credential required within 12 months of employment start date.
Thorough understanding of project work plans, schedules, staffing, and budgets.
Licensed Architect with current registration required.
Strong knowledge of design trends, construction methodology, construction documentation, material application, and manufacturer-supplier appropriateness.
