Maintain oversight of TIIs Asset and Fault Management System (AFMS) including assurance of data quality;
Develop and maintain productive relationships with the Motorway Operations Control Centre (MOCC) and other relevant TII contractors such as Motorway Operators (including MMaRC and PPP), Local Authorities and National Roads Office (NRO) representatives, to facilitate the deployment and maintenance of ITS systems on the national road network;
Assist in ensuring compliance with TIIs governance obligations deriving from, inter alia, the Public Spending Code, the Code of Practice for the Governance of State Bodies and the TII Code of Practice.
Reporting to the Senior Engineer - Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS), providing support in the oversight of the ITS Deployment, Renewal and Maintenance programmes including the Intelligent Transport Systems Equipment Maintenance Contract (ITSEMC), and supporting ITS Commission technical advisors;
Actively contribute to the Network Management Divisions risk management processes for Intelligent Transport Systems;
Assist the Senior Engineer (ITS) in the preparation of annual budget allocations and the monitoring of programme expenditure, in accordance with the Public Spending Code and TII requirements and implement appropriate programme management and control measures;
Work with colleagues in other Network Management activities, including MMaRCs, PPPs, pavement programme, bridge rehabilitation programme, winter operations, and signing and delineation programmes to ensure Intelligent Transport Systems are embedded in those operations as appropriate;
Develop strong and effective relationships with key stakeholders within and outside of TII, including colleagues in Network Management, TIIs Standards Section, Capital Programme Division, along with staff in Local Authorities, contractors / operators and technical service providers;
Assist in ensuring that the objectives of TIIs Sustainability Implementation Plan, Climate Adaptation Strategy, Climate Action Roadmap and allied policies are reflected in the ITS programmes of activity;
Form part of TIIs Intelligent Transport System team to advance the development of Cooperative-ITS and Connected Vehicle technologies and to assist in the deployment of such technologies;
Represent and attend European funded and / or coordinated ITS meetings representing TII / Ireland ITS interests as required;
Assist in the management of service provider procurements in addition to providing technical assistance and oversight for active service provider commissions;
Have a strong commitment to road user safety, to staff safety and to the safety of those working on behalf of TII;
Represent Network Operations on TIIs internal Data Protection and Cyber Security Committees;

Degree or 3rd level professional qualification (Irish NFQ Level 8) in an engineering or relevant allied discipline, with at least five years postgraduate experience;
Currently hold and maintain a full driving licence.
Possess an ability to contribute to specialist teams in the field of Intelligent Transport Systems, asset management, maintenance and road operations;
Familiarity with road maintenance and operations together with asset maintenance and management systems is desirable.
A minimum of three years experience in design, deployment and evaluation of Intelligent Transport System projects, at least part of which should relate to the supervision and contract administration of deployment or maintenance schemes is desirable.
Fluency in the English language, both written and oral;
Excellent communications skills verbal and written;
Possess a good understanding of programme and project governance, project and contract management;
Possess good risk, financial, technical, contract and stakeholder management capabilities as they relate to both Local Authority and contractor delivered works programmes;
