Primary duties include leading cross‑functional teams to deliver integrated solutions, acting as the main design liaison with clients, managing schedules, budgets, work plans, and resource allocation, and coordinating internal and external consultants, vendors, and the NewGround Build Team. The role also involves ensuring code compliance, developing technical drawings and specifications, reviewing shop drawings, conducting site visits, and maintaining design quality control.
The Senior Project Architect / Project Lead oversees design and delivery of multiple projects from strategy through completion, bridging creative, technical, operational, and build teams to align design intent, client goals, budgets, and schedules. The role requires strong concept generation, translation into final solutions, leadership of design teams, and knowledge of construction methods.
The candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Office, Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Smartsheet, Adobe Creative Suite, and rendering tools such as Enscape or Lumion, as well as Procore, SpecLink, and design‑build delivery. Strong problem‑solving, organizational, verbal, visual, and written communication skills, and the ability to manage several projects at different stages are essential.
The position expects travel as needed, simultaneous leadership of multiple projects, support for the Design Studio Head, and a passion for design and problem solving. Mentoring junior staff and fostering strong client relationships throughout project lifecycles are also key expectations.
Required qualifications include an active Architectural License, NCARB certification preferred, and 8–10+ years of commercial architecture experience, with preferred background in corporate headquarters, office, or retail design. WELL AP and LEED AP credentials are advantageous.
