The Account Manager is responsible for proactively maintaining and retaining relationships with existing customers for permanent commercial and industrial waste services within an assigned territory. The role also requires increasing penetration in the existing customer base by selling the full suite of Republic Services products.
Key duties include building long‑term customer loyalty, developing thorough knowledge of the company’s services, pricing structures, and offering additional services where appropriate. The manager performs contractual re‑signs to extend relationships, responds to cancellation requests following escalation policies, and supports pricing initiatives through proactive communication. Daily use of Salesforce to schedule and document calls, meetings, and proposals, as well as capturing customer emails while minimizing rate restrictions and credits, is required. Regular meetings with the Sales Manager review retention goals and key relationships, and partnership with the operations team addresses service issues. Participation in company‑sponsored events, trade shows, and community activities helps increase visibility.
Preferred qualifications include experience in the waste or transportation industry. Minimum qualifications are at least one year of relevant sales experience and a valid driver’s license.
