National Practice Leader

Description

The leader will oversee complex interior‑design assignments, applying advanced techniques and extensive knowledge of design principles. Responsibilities include directing the interior‑design department, ensuring quality and profitability of projects, coordinating with other disciplines, and handling construction administration tasks such as specifications, schedules, and site reviews.

• Lead and supervise the interior design department, providing technical guidance and mentorship.
• Manage complex interior design projects, including specifications, construction documents, and cost estimates.
• Conduct site visits to monitor progress, review shop drawings, and handle RFIs, ASIs, and status reports.
• Utilize CAD software and Microsoft Office Suite (Windows, Excel, Project, Word) for design and documentation.
• Coordinate interdisciplinary drawings and resolve conflicts across project disciplines.
• Prepare and present design proposals, marketing materials, and client presentations to secure new work.
• Develop project budgets, forecasts, and monitor profitability, ensuring schedules are met.
• Serve as project manager on assigned projects, collaborating with project managers on budgets and schedules.
• Research and interpret code-related issues, incorporating findings into design solutions.
• Participate actively in professional trade organizations and represent the firm professionally.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in interior design or architecture, have at least ten years of experience as a licensed interior designer, and possess NCDIQ certification. Authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship is required.
