Mechanical Engineer

Description

The Mechanical Engineer role in Abu Dhabi focuses on overseeing all mechanical works on‑site, ensuring that construction activities comply with approved designs, standards, specifications, and local authority regulations.

• Monitor and supervise HVAC, plumbing, drainage, firefighting, and mechanical equipment installations.
• Review contractors' shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and technical proposals for compliance with project specifications and codes.
• Conduct routine site inspections, issue NCRs/SORs, and maintain quality standards.
• Ensure installations conform to approved IFC drawings and project requirements.
• Coordinate with contractors, client representatives, and other engineering disciplines to resolve technical issues.
• Participate in progress, technical, and coordination meetings and workshops.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on mechanical work progress and quality issues.
• Verify and validate quantities for mechanical works to support payment certificates.
• Maintain documentation of site inspections, test results, RFIs, and correspondence.
• Supervise and witness testing, commissioning, and balancing of HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and other mechanical systems.
• Confirm that all systems meet project performance requirements and UAE authority standards.

Requirements

• Minimum 12 years of experience with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Relevant experience on building construction projects, especially malls or mixed‑use developments in the UAE.
• Prior consultancy supervision role on projects in Abu Dhabi.
• Strong knowledge of Abu Dhabi codes and regulations.
• Excellent communication, reporting, and site management skills.
