The role sits at the forefront of SR&ED strategy within our Transportation Systems team, covering rail, transit, aviation, ports, marine, coastal and fleet projects. You will guide technical advancements through recognition, defence and documentation, enabling project teams to secure innovation funding for transformational infrastructure across Canada.
You will oversee the end‑to‑end SR&ED delivery for transportation initiatives, ensuring claims are technically accurate, compliant and clearly articulated. By conducting deep‑dive technical interviews, crafting defensible narratives and representing clients during CRA reviews, you will strengthen compliance, audit readiness and open doors to complementary non‑dilutive funding. Collaboration with the national WSP SR&ED team will further harmonise best practices and tools.
The ideal candidate holds a degree in engineering, computer science or a related field and brings at least five years of hands‑on SR&ED delivery experience, including successful CRA interactions. A thorough grasp of CRA policy, eligibility guidelines and tax legislation, coupled with knowledge of engineering, software, environmental, digital or AI‑related SR&ED pathways, is essential. Strong communication skills, stakeholder management, proficiency with MS Office and a proactive, organized, collaborative approach round out the profile.
