The OHE Foreman leads a crew in daily overhead electrical cable placement, ensuring safety, tracking employee hours, and conducting daily and weekly safety briefings and inspections. This role oversees the Line team, collaborates across departments, and calls in project utility locations as needed.
- Obtain necessary materials and verify permits and licenses are secured.
- Oversee project work, ensuring quality and on‑time completion.
- Enforce safety standards that meet or exceed MasTec and customer requirements.
- Lead daily toolbox talks and conduct weekly safety inspections.
- Perform aerial tasks such as new cable installs, pole transfers, strand building, cable hanging, and lashing when not needed as a qualified observer.
- Place overhead electrical cables and connect wires to terminals and hardware.
- Coordinate and supervise crew activities for digging and product placement.
- Execute construction tasks including hole digging, cable placement, and conduit installation.
- Climb utility poles or operate aerial lift trucks to install cables per design specifications.
- Drive, haul, and operate equipment to support crew operations on job sites.
- Train new hires and trainees in trade skills and safety practices.

The position requires frequent bending, squatting, climbing, lifting up to 50 pounds, and operating in inclement weather. Workers must maintain clear vision, precise hand‑eye coordination, and the ability to judge distances and colors while performing physically demanding tasks.
- Minimum qualifications: high school diploma or equivalent, 6 years experience, 2 years supervisory experience, Class A CDL.
- Preferred qualifications: 8+ years experience with extensive supervisory and training background, OSHA 20 certification.
