Prepare drafts of portions of technical proposals, reports, regulatory agency permits, as well as less complex external and internal documents.
Generate conceptual layouts/designs and perform calculations/analyses for channels, culverts, headwalls, detention ponds, operating ponds, spillways, rock drains, check dams, and haulage/access/circulation roads. Designs incorporate erosion control features, geosynthetics, and exposed or sub-surface piping.
Develop quantity and cost estimates, and alternative assessments.
Intermittently engage on regional projects with other offices in the region.
Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling using HEC-HMS and/or HEC-RAS.
Prepare reservoir and pond designs including geosynthetic lining, leak detection/collection systems, breach analysis, outlet works, and spillways
Design channels and energy dissipation structures that include concrete, riprap, articulated concrete block, fabric-formed concrete, and baffle blocks for erosion control
Contribute to the design of regional mine sites, power plants, and dams. Facilities include stockpiles, impoundments, tailing dams, and water dams.
