The Senior Director, Engineering (Chief Engineer) leads the engineering team to operate machinery and systems safely, efficiently, and cost‑effectively, aiming for 100% uptime while protecting and enhancing client assets. This role implements reliability‑based maintenance, monitors equipment performance, and continuously improves maintenance and operational practices.

Key responsibilities include managing building systems such as HVAC, refrigeration, boilers, pumps, and related mechanical/electrical equipment; overseeing preventive maintenance, repairs, and inventory of tools and supplies; ensuring safety compliance and conducting training; maintaining up‑to‑date infrastructure documentation; and supervising engineers and maintenance staff, including hiring, training, and enforcing work authorization processes.

• Lead and manage the engineering team to achieve 100% equipment uptime.
• Oversee operation, monitoring, and preventive maintenance of HVAC, refrigeration, boiler, pump, and other building systems.
• Develop and execute reliability‑based maintenance programs and equipment inspection schedules.
• Manage inventory, prepare purchase orders, and ensure availability of tools and supplies.
• Supervise contractors, identify safety hazards, and implement remediation and safety training programs.
• Maintain comprehensive infrastructure documentation, including building drawings and regulatory compliance records.
• Supervise hiring, training, and professional development of engineers and maintenance staff, and enforce the Critical Facility Work Authorization (CFWA) process.
• Provide hands‑on training for staff on tool use, basic maintenance, safety, and troubleshooting procedures.

Requirements

Candidates must hold an associate degree in an engineering discipline or possess equivalent experience, with at least seven years in facilities management, including leadership and supervisory duties. Required knowledge spans HVAC, fluid handling, mechanical and electrical systems, CMMS, and Microsoft Office, along with certifications such as Universal Technician for CFCs and an Operating Engineers license (SMA) or equivalent.

• Require associate degree in engineering or equivalent experience, 7+ years facility management, and managerial experience.
• Must possess knowledge of HVAC, fluid handling, mechanical/electrical systems, CMMS, and Microsoft Office.
• Obtain certifications: Universal Technician for CFCs (or within 90 days) and Operating Engineers license (SMA) or equivalent.
