- Deliver presentations at conferences, networking events, and professional organizations to highlight the distinctive and innovative services Woolpert offers to clients.
- Ensure employees are properly fit for position and role by appropriately placing and ensuring continuous training and development.
- Communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Assist in negotiation of contracts as needed.
- Work with project managers to understand elements of the project plan including scope, budget and schedules, and prepare / deliver cost estimates to project manager when scope or schedule is revised.
- Participate in professional, civic and business events to establish and enhance Woolpert presence.
- Assist practice leaders and project directors/managers, during the proposal phase, by determining staffing, budgets and schedules for proposed scopes of services; or delegating this responsibility to appropriate team leaders.
- Conduct regularly scheduled Discipline meetings to discuss resources and technical issues, and to ensure teamwork within and between practice areas and service lines, as necessary.
- Serve as a technical expert and discipline representative at various meetings and events as required.
- Communicate and coordinate with practice leaders, project managers and other disciplines to enhance sales and cross-sell Woolpert services.
- Assist in project QA/QC to ensure project meets standards.
- Establishes employee performance goals, provides regular feedback, and works with employees to achieve individual and discipline goals.
- Provide technical assistance and support to team leaders and project managers as needed.
- Work with Human Resources to recruit and select qualified employees.
- Oversee engineering project phases from initiation to completion, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
- Conduct training sessions for internal employees when necessary.
- Assign tasks from project plan to team leaders, including scope, budget and schedule, for execution and ensure team leader understanding of deliverable standards.
- Foster a collaborative team culture with a focus on innovation and excellence, where team members are encouraged to push boundaries and think creatively.
- Manage project and staffing plans, adjusting them as necessary to meet changing project needs.

- Proficient in use of MS Teams, OneDrive/SharePoint, and MS Office suite.
- Experience conducting and leading QAQC and coordination of design documents between disciplines.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience leading engineering projects and teams.
- Familiar with Autodesk Revit 3-D modeling software and directing the preparation of construction documents.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents including scientific and technical journals, handbooks, and industry information.
- Experience with building engineering system design for commercial, mixed-use, aviation, hospitality, and/or high-rise preferred.
- Able to write technical opinions, articles, and thought leadership social media using original or innovative techniques or style.
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE) certification required.
- Experience with discipline related software applications and calculation tools.
- BA/BS or MA/MS in related field and fifteen (15) years related experience.
- Mentally and physically capable of performing all essential duties required of the position.
- Experience designing sustainable building systems, including familiarity with LEED, Green Building Institute, or other sustainability credentialing.
- Willing to travel to project sites or offices, as needed.
- Excellent presentation, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Motivate and inspire team members.
- Ability to provide effective responses to sensitive inquiries from clients, regulatory agencies, and/or members of the business community.
