The EHS Manager will lead environmental, health, and safety initiatives for the Northlake Distribution Center and support other sites as needed. Reporting to the DC Manager, the role interacts with all departments, regulatory agencies, and the corporate EHS team, and is part of the Tools & Outdoor on‑site workforce.
In this position you will design, implement, and maintain a robust EHS management system that supports waste elimination, an accident‑free culture, and 100 % regulatory compliance. You will also oversee ISO certifications, the EHS RoadMap, and ensure the site’s environmental, safety, and security information remains current.
- Design, implement, and maintain the site EHS management system, including ISO certifications and EHS RoadMap.
- Ensure 100% regulatory compliance and drive waste elimination and accident‑free culture.
- Provide guidance to supervisors and managers on employee health and safety regulations.
- Deliver mandatory OSHA training, new‑hire safety orientation, and site‑specific hazard awareness programs.
- Develop programs to improve workplace health such as ergonomics, safe behaviors, and hazard identification.
- Serve as liaison with corporate EHS support and government agencies on regulatory issues.
- Lead annual EHS audits, oversee corrective actions, and report audit results.
- Maintain OSHA 300 logs, injury/illness metrics, and update EHS website data.
- Drive leading‑indicator initiatives like near‑miss reporting, behavior‑based safety, and employee engagement.
- Investigate safety incidents and conduct root‑cause analyses.
- Monitor emerging safety standards and implement related programs.
- Maintain fire, spill, and emergency response contingency plans.
- Oversee physical site security, third‑party provider management, C‑TPAT compliance, and security incident investigations.
- Supervise EHS staff, managing attendance, training, and development.

Preferred qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in Health & Safety or Environmental Sciences, 3–5 years of warehouse EHS experience, strong knowledge of 29 CFR 1910 standards, excellent communication skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office and EHS data‑management tools.
Physical demands include regular standing, walking, reaching, stooping, kneeling, and handling loads of 10 lb regularly and up to 50 lb occasionally, with occasional exposure to extreme temperatures.
- Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Health & Safety or Environmental Sciences (preferred).
- Have 3–5 years of experience building EHS culture in a warehouse environment.
- Demonstrate broad knowledge of 29 CFR 1910 standards.
- Exhibit strong oral and written communication skills at all organizational levels.
- Ability to analyze complex data and proficient in Microsoft Office and EHS data‑management systems.
- Meet physical requirements: regular standing, walking, lifting 10 lb (up to 50 lb occasionally), exposure to extreme temperatures.
