Senior Cost Manager

Description

• Represent the firm to clients, peers, and partners following OCMI values
• Explain cost deliverables, processes, and justifications in meetings, presentations, or negotiations as lead representative
• Provide detailed quantity take‑off and preliminary pricing for various construction projects
• Review and interpret construction drawings to understand overall scope
• Develop comprehensive cost estimates/models aligned with client strategic goals
• Facilitate document control, file management, and project collaboration
• Adhere to QA/QC procedures to ensure quality client deliverables
• Research, solicit, and develop vendor sources to maintain accurate cost data
• Perform life‑cycle cost analysis, value engineering, and risk analysis tasks
• Mentor, train, and oversee a small team of cost estimators
• Participate in business development and marketing, including outreach to prospective clients

• Communicate clearly and concisely to meet project objectives
• Minimum 10 years cost estimating experience, preferably consulting, covering conceptual estimating, take‑offs, change order review, and value engineering
• Prior public works, education, and municipal project experience highly preferred
• Ability to accurately interpret construction documents (drawings, specifications)
• Proficiency with On‑Screen Takeoff or similar quantity take‑off software preferred
• Willingness to travel intermittently for projects, client meetings, and site visits
• Bachelor’s degree in construction, engineering, or architecture
