Participate in day-to-day resolution of product performance / applications questions (Marketing & Quality) and Quality Notifications (Operations).
Responsible for the development or technology transfer, qualification and implementation of new/improved products and cost reduction projects as defined in the Telecom Product Roadmap and DTC Programs.
Ensure all product meets requirements as defined by Industry specifications.
Comply with all applicable safety procedures and ISO14001 EMS guidelines.
Modification/creation of Product Design Documents and Process Setups necessary to manufacture new products in production. Provide additional information to design engineering Team to create cable design analysis for new designs.
Provide Application Engineering support for New Product Development, including development and refinement of the tools and accessories associated with optical fiber cables working with the Applications team..
Write and present papers to Industry forums such as IWCS.
Provide analysis of competitors’ products (with the Materials Technology Group).
Submit Invention Disclosures for innovative solutions.

Must have excellent communication skills, inter-personal skills, and be a team player.
Minimum of Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Physics – Required.
Five or more years of product and process engineering experience in fiber cable products.
Previous manufacturing experience working in cross-functional teams.
Must have a demonstrated ability to learn new technologies and lead the implementation of those into a manufacturing environment.
Proficient using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Pro-E.
Must have a passion for supporting products that are cost effective and conducive to business success.
Five or more years of experience with extrusion processes for fiber cable.
Minimum of 3 years of Product and Process Development in a manufacturing environment. Required
Must have the ability to apply first principle problem solving to implement robust manufacturing solutions.
