You will perform specialized preventative and corrective maintenance on critical facility components, including plumbing, fire‑suppression, and life‑safety systems, while implementing energy‑efficiency measures. Monitoring the Building Monitoring System (BMS) to resolve specialized alarms and conducting moderately difficult repairs, installations, and inspections are core duties.
Vendor support involves coordinating and directing vendors on skilled tasks, managing the work approval process, and ensuring maintenance activities meet standards. You will also assist in creating maintenance scripts and keep technical files for plants and equipment current.
Site administration responsibilities include preparing specialized site logs, maintenance operation protocols (MOPs), and scripts for permits, as well as identifying single points of failure. You will respond to on‑site incidents, perform root‑cause analysis, and support staff during outages, ensuring processes and procedures are followed.
Work order duties encompass completing skilled work requests, circuit installations, and advanced troubleshooting of office equipment to minimize downtime. You will make moderate changes to mechanical, electrical, and specialized systems, support lifecycle maintenance, and contribute to infrastructure replacement projects.
Collaboration is key; you will work with department members to resolve difficult facility incidents, mentor teammates on maintenance activities, and inform stakeholders of inventory needs. Acting as a mentor, you help maintain optimal stock levels of critical parts and equipment.
The role is for a skilled specialist who works on assignments requiring considerable judgment and a deep understanding of standard operating procedures. The specialist supports the overall team by applying seasoned expertise to complex tasks and making informed recommendations.
Qualifications include proven experience in critical facilities and the ability to work night shifts. Equinix is committed to an inclusive hiring process and provides accommodations for candidates with disabilities.
