Reporting directly to the Community Manager, the Housekeeper/Porter is responsible for cleaning vacant apartments to "move‑in" standards and maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of common areas. Experience in multi‑family or hotel housekeeping is preferred, and the role also includes grounds‑keeping duties in line with Royal American Management policies. Strong attendance, communication skills, and professionalism are essential.
Key duties include following OSHA and company safety standards, completing hazard assessments, and assisting teammates when needed. Housekeeping tasks involve daily cleaning of common areas, twice‑daily restroom upkeep, inventory management, and submitting clean‑room checklists. Porter responsibilities cover daily watering of plants, lawn and garden care, occasional painting, litter removal, exterior lighting maintenance, fence and gate upkeep, pool area care, equipment maintenance, and participation in an emergency standby schedule.
Physical demands involve accessing all areas of the property, working outdoors in varying conditions, and performing activities such as walking, standing, bending, climbing, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Employees must maintain a professional appearance, communicate regularly with supervisors, and adhere to company uniform standards while ensuring security of storage areas and proper lighting.
Candidates must be able to read, write, and speak English, follow detailed instructions, and work effectively under time constraints. Required abilities include various vision capabilities, limited computer literacy, and a government‑issued ID or driver’s license as needed. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, and prior housekeeping or grounds‑keeping experience is advantageous.
The position is a full‑time, experienced level role located at Village at Casa Familia in Miami, FL, offering a salary range of $16.00 to $18.00 per hour. Work hours total 30+ hours per week and may include days, nights, weekends, and on‑call shifts. The job falls under the General Labor category and does not require a specific education level.
