Registered Building Surveyor

Description

• Compiling, checking and approving reports and drawings ensuring that projects run smoothly.
• Communicating and liaising with colleagues, architects, consultants and clients.
• Technical Due Diligence, conducting thorough property surveys, assessing structural integrity, and identifying defects
• Client advising, providing professional advice on building issues
• Inputting your expertise in general where you have specific expertise not available elsewhere in company.
• Dilapidations, reports on commercial properties assessing building conditions and advising on repair obligations and costs, especially for commercial leases.
• Preparing tenders, supervising tendering procedures and putting together proposals.
• Assisting with management and coordination of projects works.
• Building Regulations and Planning Permission Compliance reporting.

Requirements

• Excellent technical knowledge and competence.
• A team player who is motivated to mentor, share knowledge with and guide graduate level building surveyors.
• Engineers Ireland CPD Accreditation since 20217
• Have strong onsite surveying skills with previous relevant commercial / residential building surveying experience.
• Proficient IT skills, including AutoCAD, Word and Excel.
• Experience in business development, client facing and presentation skills.
• Be able to develop and foster long term client relationships.
• Experience in negotiation of settlement with tenants/landlord’s surveyor on terminal Schedule of Dilapidations.
• Chartered Building Surveyor and/or Registered Building Surveyor status desirable.
• Have strong report writing skills and excellent attention to detail.
• BSc, (Hons) Degree in Building Surveying, or equivalent.
• Silver Accreditation through Investors in Diversity 2025
• 5 to 10 years’ experience, preferably within a consultancy.
