Leasing consultants meet with prospective residents, identify their housing needs, and interview them to determine eligibility. They show vacant and model suites, quote established rental rates and promotions, and conduct follow‑up calls and literature distribution. The role also includes collecting application fees, security deposits, and rental payments, as well as managing all internet leads and maintaining social media engagement.
Consultants complete the applicant screening process, prepare appropriate correspondence, and draft leases and related addendums. They maintain lease records, waiting lists, and compliance reports in line with affordable housing programs and HUD regulations. Accurate use of on‑site PC‑based property management software is required for leasing data entry and reporting.
Before occupancy, consultants inspect apartments, place move‑in products, and provide keys, move‑in packages, safety videos, and necessary paperwork at lease signing. They stay current on marketing and leasing techniques, conduct outreach through cold calling, literature distribution, and partnerships with community organizations, and monitor competitor rates and promotions by visiting rival properties. Mentoring of newly hired leasing consultants is also part of the duties.
The position requires a high school diploma or GED; an associate degree in customer service or hospitality is preferred. Candidates need 1–2 years of leasing or sales experience, a valid driver’s license is advantageous, and skills in fair housing laws, affordable housing programs, Microsoft Office, persuasiveness, and customer service are essential. Experience with Yardi/CRM is a preferred skill, and weekend work on Saturdays and Sundays may be required.
Brookfield Properties is located at 435 W 31st Street in Eugene. The company believes a one‑size‑fits‑all approach doesn’t work for residential living, so it offers a diverse portfolio of options for every stage of life. All properties share a commitment to quality, service, and support for residents. Applicants are encouraged to apply to join the team.
Compensation is commensurate with experience, ranging from $18.55 to $25.97 hourly. Benefits include a full benefits package, generous paid time off, a 401(k) with company match, growth and advancement opportunities, a lucrative referral bonus program, and an incredible associate rental discount for on‑site living.
