Responsibilities include managing regulatory issues and ensuring all products meet procedures, licensing bases, codes, and standards. The incumbent provides technical expertise to resolve issues, conducts independent research and analyses for safety, reliability, and compliance, and interfaces directly with regulators to shape policies aligned with Constellation’s goals. Additional duties involve training staff, recommending technologies to improve performance and reduce costs, and supporting emergency response, department coverage, and outage activities as required.
The position performs advanced regulatory and technical problem‑solving to support plant and fleet regulatory activities. It requires superior knowledge of industry codes, regulations, and the interrelations of organizations such as the NRC, INPO, NEI, and NERC. As a recognized subject‑matter expert, the role leads industry trade groups, influences regulatory decisions, and mentors regulatory personnel.
Minimum qualifications are a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or an equivalent technical field and at least ten years of professional nuclear‑power or NERC experience with demonstrated regulatory expertise. Strong written and oral communication skills are required, along with approval from VP Licensing & Regulatory Affairs and compliance with access and medical requirements.
Preferred qualifications include a Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) license or certification and an advanced technical degree or related coursework.
