BIM Designer – Structures

Description

• Support the BIM Coordinator and Project Delivery Team in daily BIM implementation activities.
• Develop 3D/2D models for drawing preparation, clash reporting and presentations, adhering to project LOD and standards.
• Extract 3D models for clash analysis, schedule review and quantity surveying.
• Coordinate model interfaces with designers and engineers of other disciplines.
• Ensure all models, drawings and deliverables meet project and company quality standards and BIM requirements.
• Prepare engineering drawings from the model, including arrangements, layouts, profiles and sections.
• Generate and extract 2D geometry from models for internal reviews and coordination meetings.
• Deliver Project Information Models (PIMs) in accordance with TIDP, MIDP and CDE protocols.
• Prepare BIM package submissions following project standards and requirements.
• Conduct clash detection and visual walkthroughs.
• Create models and reports for constructability analysis.
• Coordinate with the lead technical engineer to ensure timely delivery of deliverables.
• Maintain standards and libraries of Revit families/objects and run clash detection in Revit.

Requirements

EGIS is seeking a highly skilled Structures BIM Engineer with strong parametric modelling expertise to join our Dubai team. The role involves creating BIM models of complex projects such as bridges, tunnels, civil structures, viaducts and other linear and vertical structures. The position is a permanent contract within the Transportation business line, focusing on structures and viaducts/bridges.

• Hold a Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Engineering.
• Possess 6–8 years of experience, including 4–5 years of advanced Revit usage and proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Able to set up new Revit project files and produce Revit families per project requirements.
• Demonstrate strong problem‑solving, multitasking and computer skills; produce working drawings in Revit.
• Expert knowledge of parametric Revit features, Bill of Materials generation, assemblies and sub‑assemblies.
• Advanced Revit capabilities: federated models via Revit Links, worksets and shared coordinates.
• Proficient with BIM authoring, scripting, design review, coordination platforms such as Revit Structure, Dynamo, Rhino, Grasshopper, Navisworks, ACC, Revizto and AutoCAD.
• Familiarity with ProjectWise, Synchro, Bluebeam Studio, Autodesk Inventor, SketchUp and 3ds Max is desirable.
