Repairs or replaces gages, valves, pressure regulators and other hydraulic or measuring equipment; opens clogged drains using plumbing equipment.
Repairs and maintains wastewater machinery, physical structure, and equipment in accordance to blueprints or manuals, using hand or power tools.
Works with computerized maintenance program work orders and updating of computer information
Maintains physical structure using hand tools and power equipment either working independently or in tandem with other plant mechanics or personnel.
Adheres to all safety procedures and safety rules, as well as Utility work rules and policies.
Cleans and lubricates equipment according to the manufactures recommendations and department preventative maintenance schedules.
Maintains accurate electronic or hard copy records of lubrication and repairs in the utility preventive maintenance program.
Works cooperatively with other Utility departments and staff to respond appropriately to emergency situations, or assist on projects in the plant.
Participates in preventive maintenance program by keeping records of lubrication and repairs.

Ability to work in less than desirable conditions (such as wastewater treatment basins, tunnels) under potentially moderately unsafe and uncomfortable conditions, where exposure to environmental factors such as odors, dampness, chemicals, noise, pathogenic organisms, electrical currents, and/or dusts can cause a risk of injury; step and ladder climbing with fall hazards, slip and trip hazards, and large water basins with fall and drowning risk.
