Performs tasks to create, edit or verify CAD drawings and related data.
Provides resource estimations, periodic status repo11s,and write-ups of CAD activities.
Assists the CAD Specialist with testing CAD software enhancements, upgrades, and configurations.
All other personnel: Provides information and assistance to, works and exchanges information with, provides assistance and feedback to.
CAD/GIS personnel: Receives direction from, works and exchanges information with, provides assistance and feedback to.
Verifies data following department Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) procedures to ensure the creation and maintenance of accurate data including relationships.
Interprets construction and maintenance work from documentation or verbal direction to accurately update the CAD repository in a timely manner. This includes, but is not limited to performing or verifying data entry, and/or editing, attributing, and developing data sets.
Consultants: With concurrence from the Department Manager, provides assistance to, exchanges information with, and sends/receives work requests to/from representatives from external firms.
Works with users to ensure CAD repository workflow is followed.
Perform scanner/plotter/printer operation and maintenance.
Ensures the plotter and scanner are operational by performing basic maintenance and loading paper or ink/pearls. Reports technical difficulties and supply needs to the Department Manager.
Performs tasks to create or update CAD drawings from notes, sketches, drawings, data files, GPS, or verbal direction.
Other utilities and agencies: With concurrence from the Department Manager, provide assistance to and exchanges information with.
Creates reports or extracts data using reporting tools or pre-defined queries.
May assist in performing Grade 9 GIS duties.
Download, convert, and upload CAD data available from internal or external sources. Catalog, inventory, and consolidate CAD data, including metadata creation to department standards.

Ability to translate physical field plant work documentation to update CAD data and displays.
Must exhibit excellent English verbal and written communication skills. Skilled in writing instructions, documentation and reports.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Should have an understanding of electrical/civil drafting disciplines, drawing standards, associated symbology, electric utility engineering and design concepts.
Plotter and Software Vendors: Corresponds with to resolve problems and gain assistance.
Knowledge of and ability to follow QA/QC procedures.
Must have the ability to learn or do basic GIS editing. Some GIS experience or education preferred.
Must have strong mathematical skills.
Knowledge of AutoLISP and /or macro languages related to CAD is desired.
Must have the ability to proficiently and independently operate CAD software packages to perform the representative duties.
Ability to import and export data to various formats.
Must be able to work with Microsoft Office products.
Ability to understand land-based coordinate systems.
Must be detail and accuracy oriented.
