The driver safely operates a heavy‑duty truck to perform assigned duties on transfer routes, adhering to all applicable Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA), Department of Transportation (DOT), and company requirements. The role focuses on efficient movement of containers while maintaining vehicle safety and cleanliness.
Key responsibilities include conducting thorough pre‑ and post‑trip inspections using the Driver Vehicle Inspection Report, promptly reporting unsafe conditions, incidents, or service calls, and participating in required training and meetings. The driver works closely with Operations Managers to improve route efficiency, assists other drivers as needed, and communicates customer requests to dispatch. Throughout each shift, the driver ensures containers are properly dumped, sites are left clean, containers are positioned correctly, and all route documentation is completed.
This position has no supervisory duties. Candidates are not required to have prior education or experience, but must hold a valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License, be at least 18 years old, possess an acceptable driving record, and successfully pass pre‑employment DOT drug screening, physical examination, and background checks.
