Licensed Land Surveyor- Wyoming and Montana

Description

The Licensed Surveyor reports to the Senior Surveyor and/or Operations Manager within the Operations department and works from a flexible, remote‑available location. The role is responsible for planning, performing, and overseeing surveying work to deliver accurate, high‑quality results while coordinating projects, communicating with clients, and preparing survey documents and maps that meet professional standards and state licensure requirements.

• Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables with clients.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
• Coordinate team tasks to ensure accurate, on‑time completion.
• Serve as primary contact for technical survey matters and provide regular client updates.
• Conduct or oversee boundary, topographic, and construction surveys, ensuring data accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Prepare survey reports, maps, plats, and related documentation.
• Review survey data and drawings for completeness and implement quality‑control procedures.
• Maintain accurate project records, including field notes, calculations, and correspondence.
• Support invoicing by assessing project progress, coordinating with accounting, and addressing client billing questions.
• Identify potential risks to deliverables and ensure compliance with safety regulations and professional standards.

Requirements

This position primarily operates in an office setting but requires occasional travel for field work or client site visits. The job description provides a general overview and may evolve as organizational needs change.

• Hold a bachelor’s degree in Land Surveying, Geomatics, or a related field (preferred) and relevant state licensure (e.g., Wyoming, Montana).
• Possess experience with land surveying, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble, and related software.
• Demonstrate strong communication, organizational skills, and a valid driver’s license with willingness to travel.
