SGS UAE is seeking a Certification Center Officer who will ensure the timely issuance of Certificates of Conformity (CoC) while meeting the centre’s productivity and quality targets. The role involves assessing product and exporter risk levels, identifying essential requirements and applicable standards, and applying Business Rules, Conformity Assessment Instructions and related references. The officer will also provide technical opinions on product standards, classification and certification, and assist in resolving related cases and inquiries.
- Issue Certificates of Conformity (CoC) accurately and within deadlines.
- Evaluate product and exporter risk levels to determine essential requirements and applicable standards.
- Apply Business Rules, Conformity Assessment Instructions, and related process flows.
- Deliver technical opinions on product standards, classification, and certification.
- Resolve classification and certification cases and respond to stakeholder inquiries.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in an electrical field and has either two years of experience in conformity assessment or four years in testing, calibration, inspection or audit. Relevant knowledge of product design, manufacturing, testing and specifications is required, with a preference for experience in conformity assessment, industrial standardisation (ISO, IEC, EN, ANSI, ASTM), and quality management systems such as ISO 9001, ISO 22000 or ISO/TS 16949.
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related discipline.
- Possess at least 2 years of conformity assessment experience or 4 years in testing, calibration, inspection, or audit.
- Demonstrate knowledge of product design, manufacturing processes, testing methods, and specifications.
- Experience with conformity assessment, accreditation systems, product testing, and inspection protocols.
- Familiarity with international standards (ISO, IEC, EN, ANSI, ASTM) and quality management systems (ISO 9001, ISO 22000, ISO/TS 16949).
