  • Manage the preparation of work and resource specifications, method statements and plans.
  • Manage information to update systems, databases and records.
  • Manage and check the quality of work delivered and confirm assets are compliant to standards.
  • Acting as the primary engineering interface between design teams, contractors, and clients, facilitating communication and resolving technical issues.
  • Prepare specifications and requisition for materials.
  • Carrying out Construction Responsible Engineer (CRE) construction duties, including: Ensuring that construction works are executed in accordance with the approved design and railway standards, managing and resolving on-site technical issues or design changes, providing engineering assurance that works are safe, compliant, and do not compromise the operational railway. Reviewing and accepting work packages, ensuring correct certification and documentation are in place.
  • Undertake and supervise technical tasks, survey and design work.
  • Overseeing design construction integration and, ensuring that engineering designs are constructible, compliant with standards, and aligned with project objectives.
  • Providing technical assurance and supporting the approval of designs, specifications, and construction methodologies.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Prioritise work arising and agree work plans for the group.
  • Design, install, test and commission equipment.
  • Carry out work safely and in accordance with the safe systems of work procedures, method statements, plans and other instructions.
  • Manage processes and systems for the calibration and certification of tools and equipment.
  • Update and provide information to accurately update systems, databases and records as required.
  • Undertake technical inspections, tests, investigations and analysis of technical data.
  • Provide technical support and guidance.

  • Knowledge and experience of electrification and plant maintenance and construction management process, systems and standards.
  • Able and willing to drive vehicles as required by business need.
  • Knowledge and experience of design requirements, processes and techniques.

  • Able to demonstrate, promote and embed safe working behaviours within the team.
  • Able to coach, influence and develop others.
  • Ideally hold or be working towards and NVQ level 3 or 4 (or equivalent) in an engineering/leadership subject.
